Total Together is a flagship program of I Reach Out My Hand Africa, registration MA0001343/2018.
Total Together knows that our strength lies not only in the words we stand by, but most importantly through the actions of our initiatives. We realized that by working together we can overcome our challenges much more efficiently, and that is why we ultimately decided to launch the Total Together program.
Activities
Total Together is the ultimate destination for LGBTQ elder services. Our comprehensive range of services includes safe accommodation, healthcare, counseling, legal advice, advocacy and referral services for the elderly who are already in existing facilities and are lonely. We are committed to providing supportive, affirming, safe and inclusive services to our LGBTQ+ elders.
The only time you can trully get information on the lives of elders is simply visiting them and having a discussion with them. Through 2022 and 2023 this has been the work on ground and that was absolutly pleasing and successful. Some elders we meet are not all from the local community but help us in understanding what they lack in long term care and so on.

Call to Action
One Step at a Time
To reach a better under understanding of the needs of LGBTQ+ elders from high-end and low-end communities we are conducting face to face interviews with them and we also created an online form where elders can fill in their general information and needs. This information will help us better serve and structure programs that are tailored to their needs.

Stepping Up
At Total Together, we are dedicated to stepping up our efforts in addressing issues surrounding mental health and safe healthcare services, long-term care and privacy for LGBTQ+ elders. Support is by no means an easy feat, but through cooperation and community empowerment we believe we can facilitate progress in this area. We are always striving to make a difference, and invite you to learn more and lend your support.
